Search Console, Analytics, Google Ads and a CRM describe different parts of the customer journey. None of them is a complete source of truth on its own.

A joined-up evidence view does not require pretending that every user can be tracked perfectly. It requires clear definitions, compatible joins and honest boundaries around what each platform can prove.

Know what each source is for

Search Console

Shows how Google Search exposed and sent traffic to the site: queries, pages, countries, devices, impressions, clicks and average position. Query totals can be privacy-filtered, and position is an impression-weighted average rather than a fixed rank.

Google Analytics

Describes measured activity on the website or app: acquisition, sessions, engagement, landing pages and configured events. Its view depends on implementation, consent, identity and channel rules.

Google Ads

Shows advertising delivery, cost, search terms and configured conversions. Automated bidding uses the goals and actions made available to it, which makes signal quality commercially important. Common implementation risks are explained in Google Ads conversion tracking mistakes.

CRM, call and form evidence

Can describe what happened after contact: genuine or unwanted enquiry, service fit, quote, sale or another business stage. This evidence is often incomplete, but it is closer to commercial reality.

Link platforms without confusing their meanings

Google allows a Search Console property to be linked with a GA4 web data stream. The resulting reports can connect organic landing pages with Search Console and Analytics metrics, while retaining compatibility limits between dimensions. Read Google’s guide to connecting Search Console and Analytics.

Google Ads and GA4 can also be linked so advertising data appears in Analytics and selected Analytics key events can become conversion actions. That technical link does not establish that every event should guide bidding.

Choose stable join keys

Useful keys can include date, landing page, campaign, source/medium, click identifiers, form identifiers or a privacy-safe lead reference. The correct combination depends on consent, platform access and the business process.

Document URL normalization, time zones and campaign naming. A trailing slash, query string or renamed campaign can split what appears to be the same entity.

Reconcile totals instead of forcing them to match

Search Console clicks and Analytics sessions are not expected to be identical. Consent, tag loading, time zones, attribution and repeat visits create legitimate differences. Ads conversions and CRM leads can also diverge because of attribution windows, modeled conversions, duplicates and lead qualification.

Investigate material gaps, but do not “correct” one source until it resembles another. Preserve the definition behind each total.

Build a lead-quality feedback loop

  1. Define a genuine enquiry.
  2. Classify a sample of forms and calls.
  3. Connect the record to its campaign or landing evidence where permitted.
  4. Identify sources producing useful and unwanted contacts.
  5. Adjust targeting, pages or primary conversion signals carefully.
  6. Check whether quality changes after implementation.

Use connectors to reduce repeated manual work

Purpose-built data connectors can retrieve approved fields, normalize them and produce a repeatable evidence view. AI can help classify anomalies, compare periods and find patterns, while human review remains essential before strategic or live changes.

The value is not another dashboard. It is less time copying numbers and more time testing what they mean.

Connected data is useful when the definitions remain visible. A combined total without provenance can be more misleading than four separate reports.

A minimum viable evidence view

  • Search demand and landing-page visibility;
  • organic and paid website engagement;
  • advertising cost and search terms;
  • primary and secondary conversion actions;
  • classified forms, calls or CRM outcomes;
  • live-site and implementation checks;
  • notes explaining gaps and changes.

SearchConvert’s data connector and AI systems work brings these sources together without hiding their limitations.
